The Indians of the Southwest
The Indian Detour. To promote travel to the Southwest, the Santa Fe Railroad vigorously publicized the region's cultures, scenery, healthy climate and real estate opportunities. As the Harvey Company expanded in the Southwest after 1900, it too advertised the natural and cultural qualities of the area.
